At Bendixen Design, you will find the largest selection of tail ribbons and brow ribbons. We have ribbons for every occasion and every horse. A tail ribbon is a practical tool that visibly tells other riders to keep their distance on the warm-up track, etc. and for what reason.

We have provided a brief description of the different colors, making it easier to navigate if you are not completely familiar with the colors and their meanings. On this page, you can see our selection of tail ribbons and brow ribbons. All tail ribbons are attached to a buckle that easily fastens to the tail, they have a good grip on the hair and do not slide out. The brow ribbon is easily buttoned on and has the same signaling value as the tail ribbons.

The red ribbon is the most common one and most riders know what it represents. The red ribbon is a warning to other riders that the horse/pony might kick, so it is a good idea to keep a distance and avoid getting too close to the horse, especially from behind.

The blue ribbon is used for stallions, so if you are riding a mare, be extra careful. It is not very pleasant if the mare gets too close and distracts the stallion. If you get too close to a stallion, it can disturb both the stallion and your mare, especially if your mare is in heat. This can lead to a potentially dangerous situation for both parties, so be particularly aware of this ribbon. Some also use the yellow ribbon for stallions, but it is not as common as the blue ribbon, although it essentially means the same thing, so you may come across both colors.

The green ribbon literally means that the horse is green and inexperienced, perhaps it is the horse/pony's first competition. With a green ribbon, you can make the other riders aware that they should consider an unseasoned horse and help ensure it has a good experience. It may also be that the horse easily gets startled, so it's a good idea not to get too close or make sudden movements.

The white ribbon signifies that the horse/pony is for sale. You can use it as an opportunity to advertise that your horse/pony is for sale, possibly when you are going to a competition. If you are considering buying, you can also advantageously keep an eye out for the white ribbons.
